f you’re not familiar with Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, it’s the upcoming HD remaster for modern platforms of Tales of Vesperia by Bandai Namco. The original game is considered by many among the fanbase one of the best (if not arguably the best) of the series and it was released first as a temporary exclusive for Xbox 360 in 2008. It was the flagship of Microsoft’s plan to set a foothold in Japan by supporting a set of strong JRPG exclusives. W
At the end of 2009, Tales of Vesperia was finally released for PS3 as well with brand new content and new playable characters. Unfortunately, this version was never published in English for reasons that have never been officially revealed by Bandai Namco. The Definitive Edition is actually the first time North American and European gamers are able to enjoy the new content without needing to play the game in Japanese.
If you want to see more, you can enjoy some recent screenshots showing the DLC content which are included, another gallery of screenshots showing the battle system, and another recent trailer. You can also read about the differences between platforms.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will release worldwide on January 11th, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
