UK Charts: FIFA 19 Continues to Dominate, While Darksiders III Under-Performs

The UK sales results are in for the last week, showcasing the top performers, including Red Dead Redemption 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and FIFA 19. Most notably, FIFA 19 takes the No. 1 spot in the UK, despite a 39% drop in sales, week-on-week.

Red Dead Redemption 2 currently sits at the No. 2 spot, taking the place of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which now sits at the No. 3 position. Additionally, Battlefield V sold well, even with it dropping in sales by 48% since the last entry, Battlefield 1.

Darksiders III released last week and debuted at an 84% drop in sales from the last entry, hitting the No. 32 spot on the UK Charts. It did, however, release above Hitman 2, which has been well-received, but has sold softly, according to a Metro article.

Another noteworthy inclusion is the success of Forza Horizon 4, currently sitting at the No. 5 spot and out-performing Forza Horizon 3 by 18%.

There have been many fantastic games released this year, but due to the crowded nature of the release schedule this holiday, many critically well-received games have under-performed in terms of sales. Also, keep in mind, these figures are all based on physical sales and do not include games sold on the digital stores.

Finally, Pokemon: Let’s Go has garnered success on the UK Charts, even though it initially debuted 5% down from Pokemon X and Y. Let’s Go is now tracking at 8% higher than X and Y’s sales, just three weeks into its release.

Overall, it’s been a competitive week for games on the UK Charts, but some titles have not been selling as well as one would hope. Again, these are all physical sales, so the overall numbers would be different considering the copies sold on digital stores.
