Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire

Pillars of Eternity 2 Coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2019

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Pillars of Eternity II:  Deadfire, an RPG title from Obsidian Entertainment, released on PC in May 2018 with promises that a console port wouldn’t be far behind.  After a long period of silence, leaving some to be worried the project had been shelved, the developers have confirmed that the game is still in development for consoles and is headed to Xbox One, PS4, and Switch sometime in 2019.

This information was given by the developers via a forum update on the state of the game.  Grip Digital is responsible for bringing the title to consoles, much like they recently have with the ported versions of Subnautica, Q.U.B.E:  Director’s Cut, and numerous other titles.

The console version of this title will launch with all available updates, including the expansions and free DLCs.  Since the final expansion for the game was just released on PC, there will be plenty of content available at launch.

For now, only a release window has been confirmed, with Obsidian assuring fans that they will provide a launch date as soon as they’re ready.  In the meantime, if you can’t wait to pick up Pillars of Eternity II for consoles, be sure to check out our review of the title or a ranked list of all of the player companions within the game.
