Megaton-Kyuu Musashi, Level-5

Level-5 Boss Wants to Surprise Fans With “Something New”

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Level-5 has been very active over the past few years, but President Akihiro Hino appears to be seeking new challenges, as he mentioned in a New Year special on the Japanese website 4Gamer.

Hino-san explained that in 2019 he intends to challenge “something new” in order to create an interesting game that will surprise its users.

At the moment we don’t have any indication on what Hino-san may be talking about. Level-5’s upcoming lineup is pretty rich with Yo-kai Watch 4 and Inazuma Eleven: Ares no Tembin coming in 2019. They also have the RPG Megaton-Kyuu Musashi coming down the line.

We’ll have to wait and see what else the developer will pull out of its magician’s hat.

If I’m allowed some wishful thinking, I’d like to see them push more on the front of full-fledged classic JRPGs like Ni No Kuni and its sequel, but I’m not sure this kind of work is something that would fit Level-5’s recent trends that are strongly rooted on younger audiences and cross-media products.  Hopefully, they’ll surprise us in the right way.

Of course, as soon as anything solid is announced, you’ll be able to read all about it here on Twinfinite.
