Shown during the Aug. 8 Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that Dark Samus, the result of Samus’ Phazon suit taking on a mind of its own at the end of Metroid Prime, and Chrom, the king and commander of Fire Emblem Awakening, will be available for use in the next Smash Bros. as echo fighters. Both characters offer minor variations on other characters from their respective series. Like the other echo fighters revealed during Ultimate’s first trailer, each offers visual differences from their inspiration characters alongside minor technical tweaks to give them a different feel from their inspirational characters.

The news comes along with the reveal that characters from Castlevania will be available for use in the latest entry in the series. Both Simon and Richter Belmont will be playable with all of their whip lashing, item hurling techniques intact, alongside a new Castlevania stage which features Dracula, supernatural environmental hazards and much more.

The trailer can be viewed down below once it becomes available.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is slated for release on Dec. 7 Exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. For more on the series, check out our coverage of Ridley’s official announcement as a playable character from this year’s E3.
