Former editorial chief of Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) & 1UP, Dan “Shoe” Hsu, revealed today that he’s moving onto Blizzard to lead up a new editorial team as the “Director/Editor-in-Chief of Online Products.”

Blizzard has recently stepped up its efforts to cover their own games through the Blizzard Battle.net App, and based on how he’s describing the position, it sounds like Hsu is going to be leading a push to further those efforts even more.

StarCraft 2 and Overwatch are already popular esports that have plenty to write about on a regular basis, WoW is still one of the most popular games on the planet, and who knows what Diablo has cooking up. Thus, it’s not that out there that Blizzard would want a team of people whose sole focus is driving up a discussion about their games.

Hsu is one of the most well-known video game journalists, having led the famed Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) magazine through its golden years, as well as 1UP.com. After his time at 1UP, he worked with Games/Venture Beat and spent time at PlayStation as well.
