Digital Extremes is Giving Warframe’s Xbox One Version A Series of Enhancements

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Digital Extremes is bringing a wealth of new content to the popular free-to-play title Warframe, with two new expansions coming down the line. We knew this, of course, but what we didn’t know was that Digital Extremes, when speaking to Windows Central, confirmed that the studio is currently working on plans to upgrade the game with enhancements for the Xbox One X.

The Windows Central team received this statement confirming the plans:

“By default on both systems, Warframe offers base support and is fully playable on both new systems. Because of the PlayStation Pro’s and Xbox One X’s more muscular hardware systems, Warframe runs better currently without any additional work from our side. We have casual plans to upgrade at some point, but we don’t have any additional specific details to share right now.”

In terms of what this means, exactly, we aren’t quite sure about just yet. What we do know is that we’d love to see performance upgrades brought to the system, especially since the game continues to get more and more popular with every new expansion that releases.

If you’re just getting started in the world of Warframe, you’ve got a lot to look forward to with the new Fortuna expansion, so keep an eye out for what to enjoy with that content update as well as the possible “casual” plans to upgrade the game for Xbox One X in the future. It’s currently available for play on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
