Through their official website, the publisher announced that the award winning title will receive a digital port to Xbox One via the new Become as Gods edition. Along with the base game, the edition will include the 3C3C1D119440927 DLC pack, which allows players to battle the CEOs of Square Enix and Platinum Games; the Grimoire Weiss pod; the Retro Red and Grey Pod skins; the Cardboard Pod skin; and the Machine Lifeform mask accessory. Originally released on PlayStation 4 and PC on Feb. 23, 2017, the Platinum Games developed NieR: Automata is the latest entry in the NieR franchise from creator Yoko Taro. Set in a far off future where androids fight an endless conflict against alien machines, the game places players in the role of 9S and 2B as they fight to uncover the true intentions behind both a new threat and their own commanders. The game has received praise from critics and fans alike for its story and innovative gameplay mechanics, and in addition to several award nominations from several different institutions was honored at the Game Awards for having the best score/music of 2017. The game has also proven a financial success, recently passing the 3 million mark for total number of copies sold across retail and digital.
