In a post to the PlayStation Blog, creative director of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Santa Monica Studio Cory Barlog reveals God of War will release April 20 on PlayStation 4. The announcement came with a new trailer, which can be viewed down below.

“There has been a long journey just to reach this point, so it’s a little bittersweet to think that we are only a few months away from that journey finally coming to an end,” Barlog writes. “While I am sad, I am also excited because it means everyone will get their hands on this crazy adventure we have been crafting for nearly five years!”

Taking place after the events of the original trilogy, God of War follows Kratos as he attempts to raise his son Atreus. This becomes more difficult, however, when the norse gods attempt to eliminate him before they suffer the same fates as the gods of Olympus. In order to survive and protect his new family, Kratos must harness the rage which drove him in the past without once again being consumed by it.
