Titanfall 2’s New Cinematic Trailer Is More Gaming Oscar Bait

Be the Pilot.

Titanfall 2’s release is lumbering closer and closer, and in preparation for the first footage of the single player footage tonight, EA and Respawn have released a cinematic trailer that showcases the bond between a Pilot and their Titan. If you thought Battlefield 1’s trailer was full of Oscar bait, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

The first game lacked a story mode, something it was heavily criticized for, but that’s not the case here. In the story mode, you’ll be playing as Jack Cooper, a rifleman in possession of his dead friend’s Titan after they crash land on an alien planet. The two will have to work together to fend off the alien wildlife who want to eat Jack, and the IMC, who want to take resources away from the Frontier. As Jack points out, there’s a ways to go before the IMC can be taken down for good. Fortunately, he’s got a Titan on his side.

Titanfall 2 drops onto the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Oct. 28.
