Announced earlier today, Tarsier Studios’ Statik is a puzzle-solving mystery for Sony’s PlayStation virtual reality that aims to explore the complexities of the human condition.

“Awakening to each new day with a unique, hand-mounted puzzle device to solve, you must use your brain, eyes and ears to solve each mystery,” spokesperson for Tarsier Studios, Dave Mervik said in a recent PlayStation blog post.

“VR is full of potential for new approaches to gameplay and storytelling and, for our first go at it, we didn’t want to take the easy way out. We wanted to develop a game that felt both fun and substantial.”

The trailer hints at a similar meta-fictive first-person narrative to Galactic Cafe’s Stanley Parable, with the character supposedly being the player themselves. More news on the game is expected to be at E3 next week.
