Uncharted 4

Why is AC IV’s Concept Art in Uncharted 4?

Argh, that looks familiar...

So, you’ve probably seen the new trailer for Uncharted 4 that they released today. It looks pretty cool, right? If anything looked familiar to you (aside from everything else, since this is the fourth game in the series), that would be the little piece of artwork hanging on Nathan Drake’s wall at the 1:37 mark. It’s artwork from Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, something that Ubisoft employee Azaïzia Aymar was all too happy to point out.

Aymar is the head of content for Assassin’s Creed, so he would know better than anyone if art from their game showed up in Uncharted, just without the pirate figure on the beach. Here it is as in ACIV, followed by how it is in Uncharted 4’s trailer:

Ubisoft and Sony haven’t commented on this yet, so who knows if it’s actually “stolen” or if Aymar was just making a cheeky little joke.

Uncharted 4 hits the PS4 on April 26.
