Don’t Expect Many More Xbox Elite Controllers Until March 2016

Keep your $150 safe a few more months.

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is the sales hit Microsoft never saw coming. Units have been sold out at major retailers for most of the holiday season, and according to the company, could be in limited supply until March 2016.

Speaking to Tech Insider, Microsoft said more units will be heading to retailers over the next weeks, but probably won’t be well-stocked for a few more months:

“While the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is sold out in many retailers around the world, we are working quickly to get more units in the hands of fans. We expect more units to arrive at retailers each week but supply may be limited through March 2016.”

With a variety of interchangeable parts and customizable sensitivities, the Elite controller is the top of the line. It’s the kind of controller that wears a monocle and sips tea while also letting you map your own button assignments.

Keep a hopeful eye out, and let us know if you’re trying to snag an Elite controller for the New Year.
