The official Pokemon Twitter announced that a playable demo for Bandai Namco’s fighting game is headed to the Nintendo eShop soon, but no release date or any details were provided. With Pokken Tournament DX having five new fighters, it’s likely one or two of them will be playable in the demo. Either that or it’ll have new support characters Litten and Popplio.

The original Pokken Tournament on the Nintendo Wii U also received a playable demo. The 1GB demo, which was quite limited and mainly served as a tutorial, featured a standard one-match versus battle. The demo’s roster of playable characters include Charizard, Gengar, Pikachu, and Lucario, while the support roster allowed players to choose either Cubone and Diglett and Emolga and Fennekin.

Pokken Tournament DX has a total of 21 playable fighters and 32 support Pokemon. Additionally, alongside the two new stages are new game modes: Team Battle, Group Match, and Daily Challenges. Gamers can also watch other players’ battle replays to learn from them.

Pokken Tournament DX launches on September 22 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. The game runs at a smooth 60fps and will feature split-screen for an enjoyable 2-player versus match.
