Wander through a toxic and desolate tomb, confront your father, and face frightening new foes in the new DLC for Rise of the Tomb Raider – Baba Yaga : Temple of the Witch.

The trailer promises hours of new gameplay, a new story, and a creepy atmosphere. Green mist lurches out from the shadows, skeletons turn to watch, and Lara Croft speaks weakly, coughing. “Something’s wrong.” But from the look of things, everything is right. Visually and narratively, this trailer shows us what we love about Lara Croft games.

From what we can see, the narrative is strong with this DLC. A man laughs and calls her name,  as a frightened Lara Croft asks “Father?”. “Someday, you’ll understand.” He says.

The trailer shows us Lara in more danger than ever before, facing off against ghosts and disease ridden animals.

Baba Yaga, a figure in Slavic mythology, will undoubtedly be this new enemy, but her purpose in the upcoming story is still mysterious. How will this malevolent mythological being be related to Lara’s father? We hear Lara call out to her father, before a menacing specter, presumably Baba Yaga, appears before her. It seems Lara Croft will now have to battle the dark and the supernatural in this new DLC

There is no word of a release date or a price, but we can expect it to be announced soon.
