Today  Nintendo announced its quarterly financial results and provided an update to the number of Switch and 3DS shipped worldwide since the consoles’ launch.

As usual, the data’s vintage is exactly a month, since it relates to the quarter ended on June 30.

You can check out the handy table below to see how the Switch is doing (alongside the 3DS, if you still care), having reached 36.87 million shipments worldwide.

This means that the Switch shipped 2.13 million units worldwide during the quarter (between April 1 and June 30).

By comparison, Sony shipped 3.2 million PS4 units during the quarter, reaching a grand total of 100 million. This means that the PS4 still outshipped the Switch by a considerable margin (over 1 million units) over the past three months.

We also get the (unchanged) outlook for the current fiscal year, which goes all the way to March 31, 2020. Nintendo still predicts to sell 18 million Switch units in the period, which would bring the total to 52.74 units if that goal was achieved.

Interestingly, the prediction is considerably higher than Sony’s that expects to ship only 15 million units in the current fiscal year. It’s likely that Nintendo expects a significant spike in Switch shipments with the upcoming Lite version and some of its strongest games in the upcoming months.

You can also read an update on Nintendo’s business performance and on the lifetime shipments of its top games.

If you want to compare, you can check out the previous update that was released in April and related to the fiscal year ended on March 31, 2019.
