Street Fighter V Sells 1.4 Million Units

Not quite the numbers Capcom was hoping for.

Street Fighter V was released earlier this year in February and received strong reviews for its impressive graphics and gameplay. However, the game did suffer at launch with very unstable online server issues.

According to VideoGamer Capcom has revealed that Street Fighter V has sold 1.4 million units across the PlayStation 4 and PC. This figure covers sales up to the end of Capcom’s financial year which ended on March 31.

This figure may fall short of what Capcom was originally hoping for, but Capcom has stated the game is “a perennial favourite” during its first month “and maintained steady sales mainly overseas”.

This figure means that Street Fighter V is the eighth most popular game in the franchise, with opening month sales higher than the total life sales of Super Street Fighter 4 3D Edition, Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3.
