Speedrunning Marathon Awesome Games Done Quick 2018 Begins January 7

Kicking off 2018 with a Crash Bandicoot speedrun.

The annual speedrun charity event Awesome Games Done Quick begins on Sunday, Jan. 7 with the full schedule announced. The week-long marathon takes place at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport Hotel in Herndon, Virginia.

The block of speedruns start at 12 p.m. ET, with a half hour pre-show at 11:30 a.m. ET, all through the week until Jan. 14. Awesome Games Done Quick 2018 kicks off with Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped from the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, and ends with an “All Main Quests (No Amiibo)” speedrun of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Other games featured include Yooka-Laylee, Sonic Mania, Animorphs: Shattered Reality, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and Star Fox 2 from Nintendo’s Super NES Classic Edition mini-console.

The full schedule can be found at Games Done Quick’s website, and the entire marathon can be watched on the group’s official Twitch channel. All Awesome Games Done Quick 2018 donations will support the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Last year’s event raised over $2.2 million for the nonprofit, the highest amount of any Games Done Quick event.
