HDR and 4K Compatible – NieR: Automata

Recommended Videos

NieR: Automata is almost out and PS4 players will be eager to jump into the action as 2B. While the game is sure to look stunning with its simple yet powerful art style, players may be wondering whether or not NieR: Automata will display in 4K on the PS4 Pro, and is compatible with HDR on all PS4 systems.

Unfortunately for PS4 Pro owners, NieR: Automata won’t display in 4K, and will instead run at 1080p as opposed to the 900p resolution standard PS4 owners will see. While the developer was intending to have the game running in 4K resolution on the PS4 Pro, they confirmed the 1080p resolution on Pro via Twitter.

Fortunately, PS4 Pro owners will still be treated to some great-looking visuals in the game. It will also run at 60fps on PS4 Pro and will have enhanced graphical features such as improved lighting and shadows. Though, it’s worth noting that the game doesn’t have any in-game graphical settings for you to adjust.

As for HDR, unfortunately, whether you’re on a standard PS4 or the Pro, NieR: Automata simply doesn’t support HDR technology.
