A few days ago, Ratchet and Clank developer Insomniac Games teased a new game to reveal. Today, they’ve pulled back the curtain on their new title, Song of the Deep, an undersea exploration game in the vein of Castlevania or Metroid.
In the game, you play Merryn, a girl searching for her missing fisherman father. She sets out from her Irish seaside of County Clare and builds her own submarine to dive into the Atlantic Ocean. Along with puzzle solving and fighting both mythical creatures and ancient machines, the game will have an emphasis on exploration and acquiring upgrades to unlock other areas of the game world. You can check this out in the trailer below.
Song of the Deep won’t release on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC until the summer, but there’s a catch. While it’ll be $15 on digital marketplaces, it’ll be a Gamestop exclusive for physical copies. They’ll be providing marketing support for the game, but won’t have any involvement in its development.
