This Is How Much Money You’d Spend if You Bought Every 2015 Season Pass

Hint: it's a lot.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

Downloadable content is here to stay, and for most AAA releases these days, it is the rule rather than the exception. While several of the big releases this year such as Halo 5 and Bloodborne hit shelves without the added expense of a season pass, many other major titles gave customers the option. So just how much money could fly from your wallet in 2015 for this additional content?

All-in-all there were 20 season passes available for 18 games released in 2015.

  1. Dying Light – $20
  2. Evolve – Two separate season passes for $25 each
  3. Dead or Alive 5 – Two separate season passes for $93 each. Yeah. $93!!
  4. Dragon Ball Xenoverse – $25
  5. Battlefield Hardline – They called it “premium” but it was still a season pass. $50
  6. Mortal Kombat X – $30
  7. Batman Arkham Kinght – $40
  8. RIDE – $15
  9. The Witcher 3 – $25 for two full expansions!
  10. Disgaea 5 – $35
  11. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – $30
  12. WWE 2k16 – $25
  13. Call of Duty Black Ops III – $50
  14. Fallout 4 – $30
  15. Tomb Raider – $30
  16. Star Wars Battlefront – $50
  17. Rainbox Six Siege – $20 is only included in the Gold Edition
  18. Just Cause 3 – $25

That comes to a grand total of $736 for just the season passes for these 2015 games. Add in the cost of the base game themselves and you are looking at $1816!

$1816 is enough to purchase a little under a case and a half of Nuka Cola Quantum from eBay. With $1816 you could purchase a yearlong subscription to Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sling TV, and HBO Go with enough money left over to buy a 55″ Vizio LCD TV to watch all of these services. Skip the season passes for all of these games and you’d have enough money to purchase 14 years of either Playstation Plus or Xbox Live Gold.
