Earlier this year, Square Enix announced that they’d be rebooting the Tomb Raider franchise for films, and it looks like they’ve finally found their director. According to Variety, Norwegian director Roar Uthuag is selected for the Warner Bros./MGM joint. His resume includes the foreign films “The Wave”, “Cold Prey”, and “Magic Silver”.

Not much else is known about the film, as no other names are attached to it besides Uthaug. Geneva Robertson-Dworet, writer of the film “Hibernation”, is currently in talks to pen the screenplay, and no actor has been named or rumored for the role of Lara Croft. Whether the film will be something in the vein of the current Tomb Raider games or a separate universe of its own is also unknown.
