After what felt like a very long time, Diablo III’s long-awaited expansion, Rise of the Necromancer, finally received a release date.
The DLC is a homage to the fan-favorite class in Diablo II, and introduces the Necromancer as a playable class in the latest adventures of Diablo III. However, the class itself is re-created from scratch, from passive abilities to active skills, due to differences in gameplay design between the two games. The Necromancer will also receive an exclusive weapon type called the Scythe, which is available in  both one-handed and two-handed forms.
Along with the class, Diablo III users who buy the DLC also receive additional in-game items such as:
- Non-combat pet
- A pair of cosmetic wings
- New Necromancer-themed Banner Shape, Sigil, and Accent
- Necromancer Portrait Frame
- Pennant
- Two additional character slots
- Two additional stash tabs
The Rise of the Necromancer expansion will be accompanied by Patch 2.6.0, which grants access to new free content like Challenge Rifts, The Shrouded Moors zone, Temple of the Firstborn zone, and the Realms of Fate for all players who own at least Reaper of Souls (even if you don’t buy the upcoming expansion).
The pack is slated for a release on June 27 on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It will be available for $14.99. If you happen to purchase the Diablo III Eternal Collection, though, then Rise of the Necromancer is included at no extra cost.
