Following several requests from the Xbox community, developers Campo Santo have announced in a blog post that their acclaimed open-world adventure game Firewatch is coming to Xbox One on Sept. 21.
Released on Feb. 9 2016 on PlayStation 4 and PC, Firewatch puts players in the role of Henry, voiced by Rich Sommer (The Devil Wears Prada, Mad Men) as a fire lookout assigned to a tower at the Shoshone National Forest in the Wyoming wilderness. Strange occurrences take place as Henry explores the surrounding area, with only his supervisor Delilah (voiced by Life is Strange actress Cissy Jones) as a form of communication.
The first-person mystery will also bring a free-roam mode for Xbox One owners, allowing players to explore the entire Shoshone wilderness with a dynamic day/night cycle, and a few added secrets to boot. The game will launch with The Firewatch Audio Tour, a free update for the game which is described in the official blog post as “one part scavenger hunt, one part museum tour, one part game dev workshop, mixed with a dash of inside Campo Santo goofs.” It was stated that the update will be available for all players, indicating that it will be available to players on other platforms as well as Xbox One.
