Starting today Destiny fans can purchase new emotes with real life money from Tess Everis in the Tower. After a short maintenance early this morning/afternoon, patch 2.0.1 or “The one with Eververse Trading Company” went live, kicking off the new era of Destiny microtransactions.
Tess Everis is now back in her normal spot in the Tower along with a new “facelift to reflect her new venture with the Eververse Trading Company.” Most importantly, she now has for sale 18 different emotes that are purchasable with Silver. Silver can be purchased through both Microsoft’s and Sony’s console stores.
What does this mean for Destiny players? Well not much if you don’t care about emotes, as you will never be forced to buy any Silver or emotes. However, to get you started, all players will begin with 400 Silver for free. Enough for two “rare” 200 Silver emotes.
The new emotes are pretty awesome and will certainly tempt you. There is the Evil Scheme which makes you look like some kind of mad scientist. There is also Bring It On which is pretty much The Rock’s famous, Just Bring It taunt from professional wrestling. Â But of course, the coolest ones are justttttt a bit out of your reach with the free Silver that Bungie provided you. For just 100 Silver more than what you got for free, you could have the Enthusastic Dance, AKA the freaking Carlton from Fresh Prince of Bel Air or a humiliating Slow Clap for when someone in your raid party screws up.
Check out the full list of emotes and their pricing below. You can also see the Carlton and other new Destiny emotes by checking out this emote roundup via Reddit.
