Users on Reddit have been doing some digging in the files of the PC version of the Star Wars: Battlefront beta. As well as three new heroes, users TheeUberMedic and radgamerdan have found mention of something called Hero Hunt or Hero Battle.
Found files make mention of heroes within the game, of course there’s the already announced Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett. However, the files also mention three new heroes Han Solo, Princess, Leia, and The Emperor. Previously EA has said that more heroes would be featured in the full game. Mined sound files attached to each of these characters have also gone up on SoundCloud.
Some of what’s in these sound files is strange though. Specifically sections where The Emperor references killing Princess Leia, Han Solo and encountering Luke Skywalker. Then Leia references killing the Emperor and encountering Darth Vader. Han Solo also has a section where he references killing Boba Fett and encountering Darth Vader. This adds further fuel to the notion that a new mode might be in the game featuring heroes battling it out. This is supported by the words “herohunt” and “herobattle” that were found in the files.
The Star Wars: Battlefront beta officially launched today, and the only heroes available to play right not are Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. It has been confirmed that there will be a power up that allows you to pilot the Millennium Falcon in the 20-player Fighter Squadron mode, that has players in a massive ship dogfight.
Star Wars: Battlefront is set to launch on November 17 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The beta will run from October 8-12. Have you tried the beta out yet, what are your thoughts? Would you like to see a mode in the game, where players can duke it out with their favorite heroes? Let us know in the comments.
