Today Spike Chunsoft announced that the game will be released in North America and Europe for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

If you’re unfamiliar with the title, it’s a remake of a classic mystery/romance/dimension travel visual novel created by the late Hiroyuki Kanno.

It was originally released in 1996 for NEC PC-98, followed by Sega Saturn and PC. The remake itself released in Japan in March 2016 for PS4 and PS Vita.

In order to celebrate, we get a trailer that you can watch at the bottom of the post.

Unfortunately, not all news is good, as apparently the PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions of the game have been censored “In order to secure a release in the West on consoles.”

The changes are as follows:

  • Sala Oasis Scene
    • A sunbeam is placed over Sala’s naked lower body.
  • Symbols
    • Some cursor interaction symbols have been replaced with the “investigation” symbol. The story content and gameplay remains the same; only the cursor symbol itself has been replaced.

The PC version remains untouched, and its content is identical to the Japanese Switch version.

The Nintendo Switch Day 1 edition will include an 8-bit style minigame based on the world of YU-NO, while PS4 day 1 edition will come with a mini cloth poster featuring Eriko Takeda.
