Yakuza fans are getting a special treat ahead of Yakuza Kiwami’s debut at the end of the month. Sega has announced an official release date for the upcoming Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. The final chapter of Kazuma Kiryu’s reign as the Dragon of Dojima will be coming to an end on March 20, 2018.
To commemorate the launch, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is getting two special editions when it launches. First, the Launch Edition includes a hardcover art book that also can be used as the game’s case. It retails for $59.99, so you may as well spring for this one if you plan on buying the game anyway.
The After Hours Premium Edition is where the real goodies are at, with the hardcover art book as well as 2 bar glasses, 2 ice stones, 2 coasters, and a box to hold it all in. That way you can drink with your favorite Yakuza characters and send off the tale of Kiryu in style. The box isn’t too shabby, either.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like either edition is up for preorder just yet at retailers like Amazon or GameStop at the time of this post, but that should change in the coming months ahead of March.
Yakuza 6 looks like a wild ride, much like the rest of the series, and I personally can’t wait to gear up one more time and beat the snot out of everyone who dares look at me some type of way as part of the Dojima family. This should be a fitting end to the adventure with Kiryu as we know it, but hopefully we see more from the Yakuza series as a whole going forward. Check out the trailer below!
