Titanfall 2 is due to be released later this year and a lot of gamers are looking forward to gearing up and waging war in giant mechs. Given that the game is set to be released on multiple platforms, fans have been speculating whether or not the online multiplayer will be cross-platform. This would mean that PlayStation, Xbox, and PC gamers could all play against one another.
It has been stated that Titanfall 2 will not feature cross-play support at launch, however Steve Fukuda, the game’s director, told Shacknews that Respawn has not completely ruled out the idea of cross-play.
“We aren’t planning on doing that at launch. For now, the answer is no, but we aren’t closed to the possibility,” said Fukuda.
Cross-play is certainly an exciting idea but some gamers have pointed out that mouse and keyboard players on PC would have an advantage over controller using console players. Issues like these would need to be ironed out in order to keep competitive online play fair.
