Watch Dogs 2 Will Have “Seamless Co-Op,” But No AR Games

Hack with friends.

The original Watch Dogs had augmented reality games, and one would understandably think that Watch Dogs 2 would follow suit. That’s not the case; while speaking to GamingBolt, director Danny Belanger said that those missions will instead by replaced by more city exploration. As the player travels through San Francisco, they’ll learn about operations and secrets that have the potential to unlock side quests.

As far as co-op is concerned, Belanger said that they planned on making it as seamless as possible. “Now you’re a part of DedSec,” he says, ” so we wanted those hackers to work together. You can be in your single player game, but there’s a DedSec ally that’s walking around the street, and if you want you can just go and press a button and go in co-op.” There’ll be co-op specific missions for players to complete, similar to the zones in Dead Space 3 or Destiny.

Watch Dogs 2 hacks its way to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 15.
