“Today, multiple sources with knowledge of Blizzard internal plans said that Blizzard will reveal StarCraft HD to the public this September. The StarCraft HD remastered version will retain the original gameplay and is said to have improved graphics resolution and user interface (UI),” reads a translation of the report via Kotaku.

StarCraft was originally a 2D game, but it’s not known at this time if the rumored HD remaster will make the jump to 3D or stay in 2D. Following the game’s alleged September announcement, however, more details will supposedly follow in early November during the annual BlizzCon event in Anaheim, CA.

The September timing for the official announcement is said to have been chosen to correlate with the conclusion of the StarCraft II World Championship Series in Mexico. However, the developer has yet to confirm that StarCraft HD even exists, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
