After a small tease on Twitter yesterday, the publisher XSEED has confirmed that the third game from their Trails in the Sky series will be making its ways west. Kotaku confirmed with the publisher that Trails in the Sky the 3rd will be coming in 2017, only to PC however.
The first two Trails in the Sky games have released in North America to critical acclaim from fans, although the localization for the second game SC, was a long and arduous journey for the publisher. Fans should also be happy to heart that the Trails series has been selling fairly well in the west. XSEED said today in a press release that all of the games they’ve released in North America—Trails FC, Trails SC, and Trails of Cold Steel—have sold a total of 350,000 copies as of today.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd takes place six months after the events of SC. It follows the story of Kevin Graham, a young priest (!) who receives a mission to investigate a mysterious artifact recovered from the bottom of a lake in the Liberl Kingdom.
In celebration of all the news The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky and its sequel The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC are on sale today over on the PlayStation Store and Steam for $9.99 and $20.99, respectively.
XSEED also confirmed that Trails of Cold Steel II, the direct sequel to last year’s Trails of Cold Steel will be hitting the west this fall. All of this is great news for fans of the series, as many thought we’d never see some of these games get localized.
Are you excited to see Trails in the Sky the 3rd make its way to North America? Have you played any of the Trails games yet, or hoping to jump in soon. Let us know what you think down in the comments .
