A student known as RM-Parfait posted a link to some concept art she designed for an imaginative Thai hero in popular online shooter game Overwatch yesterday and has since gained a lot of attention from fans, the industry, and even developer Blizzard itself.

After having received responses by a handful of impressed fans, Overwatch’s director Jeff Kaplan responded himself saying, “Wow, this is amazing. You are so talented!” The post has since accumulated over 30 additional pages of comments. Not too bad for a computer art major still going for her master’s degree.

Inspired by Siamese fighting fish known as the Betta fish, the support hero, whose name is Tara (which means “water” in Thai), has abilities including “Bubble”, which temporary halts enemies inside a bubble, and “Healing Drone”, which heals allies inside a 1.5 meter radius. Concept art for Tara’s dual weapons was crafted too, in addition to some art of the hero’s map, called Arun Town, and holiday skins. Check everything out in the gallery below:

Fans have since clamored to Blizzard’s forum to beg the developer to put Tara into the main game. Though not unfeasible, it remains to be seen what Blizzard will do with this Overwatch fan’s creation, if anything at all.

In other Overwatch news, the game will be free to play on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One again this weekend and has received a new update removing Hanamura, Horizon Lunar Colony, Temple of Anubis, and Volskaya Industries from the game’s Deathmatch rotation. No reason has been given for this change.
