Today’s release feels like it has been a long time coming, as YouTube has been available to download on the Nintendo Switch since November 2018.

The Nintendo site listing for the Twitch app gives a small blurb of:

Watch livestream gaming videos, Esports and any IRL broadcast on your Nintendo Switch device!

Sports are here. Tune into your favorites: basketball, baseball, soccer, football, swimming, wrestling, hockey, pool, and much more through talk shows, league channels, Fantasy, and ESports.

Yes, including the two different ways they have spelled “esports.” (That is the way the proper way according to the Associated Press Style Guide.)

As of right now, Twitch is officially available on every gaming platform possible. Twitch is on your phone, PC, Xbox One/Series|XS, PlayStation 4/5, and now the Nintendo Switch.

On its own site Twitch describes itself as:

Twitch is where millions of people come together live every day to chat, interact, and make their own entertainment together.

Your creative content thrives here. Bring your passions; we’ll help you build a community around them.

Twitch is a developer’s dreamland. Countless communities need custom tools built just for them

This news does come only a month after Twitch announced a massive security breach.

We can confirm a breach has taken place. Our teams are working with urgency to understand the extent of this. We will update the community as soon as additional information is available. Thank you for bearing with us.

If you haven’t, this is definitely time to throw on Two-Factor Authentication and update your passwords.

Are you going to be watching Twitch on your Nintendo Switch? (Yes, that rhyme has been enjoyable during writing this.) Leave a comment below telling us your thoughts.
