The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Comes to Wii U Today

Another Link adventure comes to Wii U.

During today’s Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that to celebrate The Legend of Zelda’s 30th anniversary, 2011 Wii title, Skyward Sword is to be made available today on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U.

Skyward Sword has been confirmed by Nintendo as the first game in the official Legend of Zelda timeline, meaning it’s a great place to jump in if you’re new to the series, or whether you just want to find out where Link’s adventure all began.

It should be noted that the eShop version of the game is the exact same version as that which released on the Wii back in 2011. This is not an HD remaster of any sort, so you’ll be using motion controls. Skyward Sword required the Wii Motion Plus add-on, so you’ll also want to make sure you have this before you download the game.

Will you be picking up Skyward Sword on the eShop? Let us know in the comments below.
