Ever since Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was released, series creator Hideo Kojima has pretty much gone off the radar. There have been numerous rumors about his departure from Konami, which Konami denies. So what, is the famed game creator currently up to? Many have been speculating that he will be attending today’s Video Game Awards, but nothing official has been announced.

News on Kojima has come from Donna Burke, the singer who provided the vocals to the songs Heaven’s Divide and Sins of the father for Peace Walker and The Phantom Pain respectively. Whilst speaking to MetalGearSolid.be, Burke was asked about Kojima Productions being disbanded. Burke responded:

“I’m very interested, curious and excited to see what Hideo Kojima is going to be creating next. I’ve heard he will still be based in Tokyo. But all will soon be revealed!”

A very interesting answer. Kojima has a history of playing pranks on his fans, and it wouldn’t surprise us if perhaps he did have something up his sleeve. Nothing is sure at the moment, but it looks like we haven’t seen the last of Kojima.
