Take-Two is the publisher behind some of the biggest video game franchises in the industry such as Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead, and the Borderlands series. In a recent earnings reports, Take-Two confirmed that, not only will Red Dead Redemption 2 be released in the fiscal year of 2019, but that another big sequel is on the horizon.
As GameSpot reports, A major sequel from 2K Games is also on its way and Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said: “a highly anticipated new title from one of 2K’s biggest franchises” is set for a 2019 fiscal release. He remained tight-lipped on details but 2K is best known for developing games such as Borderlands, Civilization, The Darkness, and BioShock.
The most likely bet is that it is Borderlands 3, which is yet to be officially announced but is confirmed to be in the works. However, Borderlands games are published by 2K but developed by Gearbox, so Take-Two may not consider it a 2K game as such. Take-Two’s biggest upcoming game is easily Red Dead Redemption 2 and it was confirmed that the game is still set for a Spring 2018 release date. Here’s hoping we see what 2K is cooking sooner rather than later.
