Blood! Lots and lots of blood.

Over the weekend, Blizzard revealed the in-game models for the female Necromancer in Diablo III along with showing for the first time a host of new abilities, including the Blood Golem. We went hands-on and had an absolute blast. You can read our impressions right here if you want to get a feel for how it played.

However, if watching is more your thing, below is five minutes of pure Necromancer goodness in all of her skeletal glory. Before jumping in, you might want to review some of the new skills you’ll see in the video. Here are the new skills and descriptions according to Blizzard. The combo of Blood Nova and Leech in particular was our favorite.

Grim Scythe: Swing a huge scythe in a wide arc, dealing damage and restoring Essence.

Blood Nova: Unleash a powerful nova dealing massive damage to surrounding enemies.

Devour: Consume corpses to instantly restore Essence to power your other skills.

Golem: Summon a powerful ally like the mighty Blood Golem, which can drain the blood from your enemies, dealing damage and restoring your health.

Blood Rush: Shed your mortal flesh and pass through solid objects to swiftly reach a new location.

Leech: Curse enemies so that attacking them transfers their life energy to you and your allies.

Diablo III’s Rise of the Necromancer Pack DLC will be out this year sometime and will feature the new class, an in-game pet, cosmetic wings, two character slots, two stash tabs, a portrait frame, pennant, banner, and banner sigil. Note that the new stash taps are for PC only as the console version has reached the maximum possible. Both the PC and console version will release at the same time.
