Pokemon: How to Get Your Free Shiny Xerneas Before Time Runs Out

If you own Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, Omega Ruby, X or Y, you can get your hands on a free level 100 Shiny Xerneas! This is a part of The Pokemon Company’s Legendary Trio event celebrating the release of the new Pokemon animated series, Pokemon the Series: XYZ.

Follow the directions below to get your hands on Shiny Xerneas before May 17th:

  1. Select Mystery Gift on the main menu
  2. Select Mystery Gift, then Yes
  3. Select Get Via Internet, then Yes, then Yes again to connect to the Internet
  4. Watch as you receive the Pokémon
  5. Speak to the delivery girl in any Pokémon Center to receive the Pokémon
  6. Be sure to save your game!

If you are looking for a free Pokemon after May 17th, you will have to wait til May 20th-26th to get your hands on a level 100 Shiny Yveltal.

You can also get your hands on a free Darkrai between May 1st-24th at participating GameStop locations! So many free Pokemon and only 6 spots on your active team!
