PayPal UK initially teased the Winter Sale start date early yesterday, prompting eager players to tweet #WinterSale to reveal the date. While there has yet to be any official confirmation from Steam as of yet, PayPal UK has since confirmed the start date to be Dec. 22.

The Steam Winter Sale start date coincides with the beginning of the voting for the finalists of the first-ever Steam Awards. The nominees were voted on by Steam users last month with over 15 million nominations being made. Voting on the Awards will take place between Dec. 22, and Dec. 29.

Currently, there’s no word on when the Winter Sale will end, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as and when this gets revealed.
