The beta for EA’s Battlefield 1 has proven to be the company’s most successful beta to date, with some pretty overwhelming statistics coming through since it ended last week. Some 13.2 million players participated in the 9-day spectacle, that boasted statistics that included 28.9 million melee kills, 13 million kills from the devastating and often match-changing Armored Train, and 62.2 million kills whilst on horses. The beta ran from Aug. 30 through to Sep. 8.
Assault proved to be the most popular class with 30% of players opting for it, which was closely followed by the Scout class at 28%. Senior Producer of the game, Aleks Grondal, has also thanked players for the feedback the team has received from fans following the beta, which smashed the previous record for players in last year’s Star Wars Battlefront, which had over nine million players taking part. “I want to personally thank you all for all the great feedback you’ve given us,” he stated. “We’re trawling through forum posts, social media mentions, and digging into some great data. We’re identifying what worked well, and what didn’t work as well. We truly value your input. In the near future, we’ll have more details on the changes we’ll be making to the full version of the game.”
Battlefield 1 will release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on Oct. 21, 2016.
