A glimmer of hope!
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

The fight for a SNES Classic yesterday was a tough one. Many fans hoping to get their hands on a bit of nostalgia were left disappointed. The likes of Amazon, BestBuy, and GameStop all sold out of their pre-orders almost instantly. However, GameStop has given fans a glimmer of hope in this dark time.

According to a tweet posted by the official GameStop Twitter account, the retail chain will have more SNES Classic stock available on launch day in stores for walk-ins.

Of course, exactly how many units each store will have is likely to be on the low side, so your fight likely isn’t over yet.

The SNES Classic brings 21 classic games pre-installed on the system including the never before released Star Fox 2. EarthBound, Super Mario RPG, and Secret of Mana are just a handful of the games making up the list. The system is due to release on Sept. 29, and will cost you $79.99.
