Rocket League will support the PlayStation 4 Pro in a patch slated for Feb. 21, Psyonix announced in a PlayStation Blog post today.
The update allows the game to run at 4K resolution on a PS4 Pro, 1080p on a standard PlayStation 4, and 60 FPS for both systems. This includes all arenas for single player and two player split-screen modes, but three and four player split-screens modes will have 60 FPS “in most arenas at the same resolutions.” Technical improvements, bug fixes, and a community-voted Player’s Choice crate are included in the update.
In addition to the resolution bump, Hot Wheels-branded cars and items will be added in the Feb. 21 update. Two Hot Wheels premium DLC cars will be sold for $1.99 each, while free antennas, toppers, and flags can be unlocked through item drops after completing matches.
Psyonix ended the post by saying this update would be the “first of many planned content updates for Rocket League in 2017.”
