Psyonix general statement from their blog post in response to potential FAQs is as follows:

“We’re happy to say that the answers are only positive. Rocket League always has been and always will be a community-driven game, and now that we have joined forces with Epic, we will be able to serve our community in even bigger and better ways!”

The rest of the post on the Rocket League blog aims to answer questions which fans of the game may have following this announcement, aiming to comfort fans who may have concerns with this move.

Psyonix reassures fans that there will still be “frequent updates that have new features, new content, and new ways to play the game for as long as you’ll have us,” suggesting this does not mean any real changes or slowdowns in Rocket League’s support.

Psyonix also states this will improve the eSports scene, with the company now having significantly more reach and resources.

The developer ensures that in short, according to this new post, no real changes will be made other than Rocket League’s new availability via the Epic Games store – and that this move will only be positive for the company and fans.

Psyonix ends the post by thanking fans for their continuous support, stating that they look forward to fans continuing to provide such support in the years that follow.

Psyonix also notes: “This transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions. Epic and Psyonix currently expect to close the acquisition near the end of May to early June 2019.” Meaning this is subject to change, but will most likely close later this year.
