With Nintendo’s upcoming console, the Switch, we’re going to be able to take games like Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8, and Splatoon 2 on the go. The Japanese gaming company has announced that they’re planning to offer paid replacement batteries for the Switch, which is confirmed to last about 2-6 hours on a single charge.
Electronics usually diminish over time when it comes to battery life;Â especially when said electronic device is being used whilst charging. A technical specifications list on the Switch has been updated on Nintendo’s website stating that “the internal battery cannot be removed. If the battery needs to be replaced, we plan to offer paid replacement via Nintendo Customer Support.”
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be able to be played for about three hours on a single charge, according to Nintendo. The system will also take three hours to charge completely while in sleep mode.
No price has been announced as of yet for the battery replacement. We’ll be sure to update this story as more details on the Nintendo Switch continues to be unveiled.
The Nintendo Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launch on March 3.
