The Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour demo receives its first patch today, Capcom announced in a Steam post. The update fixes graphical issues and the in-game button that leads to the game’s Steam Store page.
The patch also fixes support for older CPU models, which caused the demo to crash or not launch properly as the developer noted last week. The full patch notes for the PC demo are listed below:
- Game now works on CPUs without SSE4.1 functionality (e.g. AMD Phenom, Intel Core2 series)
- Optimized HBAO+ performance
- Fixed an issue that caused the screen size to change when switching from full screen to windowed mode.
- In-game purchase button now correctly links to the full game store page.
The PC demo released on Dec. 19, while the Xbox One dropped on Dec. 9 and PlayStation 4 owners have been enjoying it since June. The PS4 version has received numerous updates since its release by adding more content, an optional PlayStation VR mode, and supporting 4K resolution for the PS4 Pro. The PC demo was delayed to optimize PC-specific graphic options which the developer teased here.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard launches next month on January 24, 2017 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
