Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is in development and it looks like the game will focus more on horror than it has done in a long while. Past games have been more action orientated, but it seems players will do far less shooting in this new title.

The PlayStation 4 version of Resident Evil 7 will be playable from start to finish in using VR. On Capcom Unity, the game’s director, Kōshi Nakanishi revealed that the development team has been aware that the horror will be more intense for those playing via VR and that this is something that has been considered whilst making the game.
“You take responsibility if you choose to play in PSVR Mode,” he said. “Whether you think you’re ready for it or not is up to you to decide.
“We certainly did have feelings at some points where we thought it was possible to push it too far in VR with horror.”
Nakanishi also explained that is aiming to “optimise the [VR] experience to make it comfortable and as immersive as possible,” though the “game itself is the same” regardless of how you play it.
The game’s producer, Masachika Kawata, went on to state that he believes “VR is a really good match for horror” and added:
“When we first got it implemented we were all so excited to try it out, put on the headset, and get into the horror experience. You have to try it out for yourself to figure out how immersive it is and how you feel like you’re right there in the room.”
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is due to be released on January 24 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
