Capcom’s Resident Evil series hasn’t had a main entry in the series since RE6 in 2012. There have been plenty of spinoff games and HD remasters, but people have been demanding a new numbered entry for some time now, and it sounds like it’ll be a while before that happens. While speaking with Dangeki PlayStation to celebrate the publication’s 600th issue (congrats guys!), Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata was asked about a seventh entry, to which he replied: “We’re currently not at a state to talk about it… but please stay tuned.”
Dangeki also asked Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi about the chances of seeing a new entry in the Devil May Cry series, which had a reboot release in 2013 to mostly positive critical reception, but mixed responses from series fans. Kobayashi said that a new DMC is something he’d “personally like to do, but there are no plans for now”.
