Death Stranding Gets An Extensive New Trailer

What did I just watch?
This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

As a part of the 2017 Game Awards Show, a number of new games were announced or showcased; though one of the show stealers appears to be another cinematic trailer for Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game Death Stranding. The game is a collaboration between Kojima, Guillermo Del Toro, and Norman Reedus and has thus far remained highly secretive to the public with only two trailers released prior to this one The trailer, as one might expect of Kojima, featured a lot of artistic imagery that somehow manages to inform the viewer while telling them absolutely nothing. In it, we see Norman Reedus’s character among a number of other character all wearing some kind of hazmat suit and being pursued by unnamed invisible creatures who seem to detect them based on sound. The group ends up attacked by these creatures and what ensues is…honestly best seen to be believed. It’s difficult to fully discern what any of the trailer actually means, but it offers more of a look into Death Stranding than has been previously shown. There is still no game play footage, but based on the trailers it’s safe to say that the game will feature plenty of Kojima’s infamously bizarre ideas. Currently, the game is still in development for PS4 without a tentative release date. The full 8-minute trailer can be viewed below:
