According to the source, Pegatron will be responsible for 70% of the production of PlayStation consoles this year. Pegatron and Foxconn will also up their shipments to meet the increased demand during the holiday season. The console is slated to launch on Nov. 10, and will feature improved hardware in comparison to the vanilla PS4 console. According to Sony, this will enable a “majority” of games to be upscaled to 4K resolution.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo NX will be produced at an estimated 9.5-10 million units annually. The console has not been officially announced yet, and details on it are scant. However, it was recently confirmed by The Pokémon Company that the console will be a home/mobile hybrid. Although the Nintendo NX is expected to release in March next year, it will likely not be competing with the PS4 Pro or Microsoft’s upcoming “Project Scorpio” console.
